The AMEB Piano exam has three sections. This app focuses on Section III: General Knowledge — the theory and aural component administered by the examiner.
Section I (Technical Work: scales, arpeggios) and Section II (Performance Pieces) require supervised practice with a teacher.

What this app cannot cover
- Aural sing-back (all grades): Singing back a 5–6 note phrase requires a microphone and voice recognition. Practice this with your teacher — they will play a phrase and ask you to sing it back.
- Key changes (Grade 2+): Identifying a modulation at an obvious point in a printed score requires real piece excerpts. Your teacher will show you examples from your exam pieces.
- Piece-specific questions (all grades): The examiner will ask about YOUR exam pieces — title, composer, key, time signature, terms marked in the score. Use the Learn page and flashcards to prepare the theory; apply it to your own pieces.
- Grade 3 intervals in key context: Grade 3 asks you to name an interval as a degree of a named scale (e.g., "In D major, this is the Major 3rd"). The Interval Quiz teaches the interval names — apply that knowledge to any key by remembering the scale degrees.
- Section I: Technical Work: Scales and arpeggios performed hands-together in specific tempos, articulations, and octave ranges — the Scale Builder helps you learn the notes, but performance technique requires teacher feedback.

Use this app for daily theory drilling — notes, intervals, terms, key signatures. Bring your exam pieces to every lesson and ask your teacher to quiz you on the piece-specific questions (title, composer, key, terms in the score).
